I had a used Lionel "O" gauge train set when I was a kid. It was a hand me down from my brothers. My father said he bought it off a guy where he worked in the 1950's. I played with it all the time. After i got older and had moved out on my own and married I decided I wanted to collect HO scale trains. I had a small layout for a while but a divorce ended the hobby for a while. I eventually got my original Lionel set from my parents house but it had some broken pieces on the locomotive and I was a bit afraid to use the transformer. I was unable to find anyone who could fix the locomotive so it set in my garage in a cardboard box for many years. An article in our local paper about a retired man, Herman, who had a large layout of O" scale trains...

An article in our local paper about a retired man, Herman, who had a large layout of O" scale trains got me interested in the hobby again. I visited Herman and he gave me the name of someone about 15 miles from our town who could probably repair my train. I contacted Rick, met him at his house and the rest is history. I really got bitten by the bug. My favorite types of trains are steam trains or early diesels. I have become good friends with Herman and Rick and have met several other local people who are interested in model railroading.
